WAHDA - UNION INAUGURATION
The Inauguration of the Students Union and Fine Arts Club at Malabar Training College took place on November 8, 2024, in the prestigious setting of the college’s General Hall. The event was marked by a series of dignified and enlightening speeches, reinforcing the commitment to student leadership and artistic expression.
The opening prayer was conducted by Albin Joseph, Jojima P, Nancy Irene, setting a spiritual tone for the proceedings. Following this, Sri. Alfin Reji, the newly elected General Secretary of the Union, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, setting the stage for the auspicious event.
The highlight of the inauguration was the presidential address delivered by Sri. Vishnu N, the Chairperson of the Students Union. He articulated the vision and goals of the Union, emphasizing the role of student leadership in fostering a positive and inclusive college environment. The Union Inauguration was performed by Sri. Pramod Vellachal, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English, Kannur University, and a Member of the Syndicate. In his speech, he encouraged students to actively participate in academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities, helping to shape a holistic learning environment.
The inauguration of various student clubs was conducted by Smt. Dr. Jayasree C V, Principal of SUM College, Muzhapala. She highlighted the importance of clubs in nurturing leadership skills and enhancing student engagement in co-curricular activities.
The Fine Arts Inauguration was done by Sri.Rhithwik S Chand, a renowned musician, who encouraged students to pursue their artistic talents and emphasized the role of fine arts in fostering creativity and cultural awareness. He set the stage alight with his tremendous performance by singing various songs, and the students danced to the songs. Smt. Dr. Indu K Mathew, the College Principal, delivered insightful introductory remarks regarding the duties and responsibilities of the Students Union. He expressed his confidence in the capability of the Union to contribute positively to the college community.
The event witnessed felicitations from various dignitaries, including Principal, Malabar TTE Smt. Sreeja Matathil, College Superintendent Sri. Mohanan A C, PTA Vice President Sri. Abdulsalam, Fine Arts Secretary Sri. Adwaith V V, Staff Advisor Smt. Meera Thomas, Former Chairman Sri. Abijith Devan. Each Speaker applauded the efforts of the Union and the Fine Arts Club, highlighting their potential to make a significant impact.
