MUSHROOM HARVESTING AND SALE INAUGURATION


Malabar Training College, Peravoor, inaugurated its Mushroom Harvest and Sale initiative on November 29, 2024, at the college auditorium. The program, titled “A Green Malabar Initiative,” aimed to promote sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship among students.

The inauguration ceremony began at 11 am, with a warm welcome by Sharfa Usman. Principal Indu K. Mathew delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of sustainable agriculture and the role of educational institutions in promoting eco-friendly practices.

Smt. Sandra M.M., Agriculture Officer at Peravoor Krishibhavan, inaugurated the Mushroom Harvest and Sale initiative. In her address, she highlighted the potential of mushroom cultivation as a viable entrepreneurial venture and commended the college for taking the initiative.

Bhavya K.K., Staff Secretary, and Mr. Raghu, Agricultural Assistant at Peravoor, felicitated the program. They appreciated the college’s efforts in promoting sustainable agriculture and providing students with hands-on experience in mushroom cultivation.

The highlight of the program was the introduction of “Malabarian Mushrooms,” a brand of mushrooms cultivated by the college. The mushrooms were harvested and sold to the guests, providing a unique opportunity for students to engage in entrepreneurial activities.

N. Vishnu, Union Chairman, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests, organizers, and participants.

The Mushroom Harvest and Sale initiative is a significant step towards promoting sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship among students. Malabar Training College, Peravoor, has set an exemplary model for other educational institutions to follow, and the program is expected to have a positive impact on the local community.
