Swachhata hi seva
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit 101 of Malabar training college, Peravoor organized a cleaning drive and student park inauguration on the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The program aimed to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a clean and sustainable India.
The program was inaugurated by esteemed Malabar College Principal, Indu K. Mathew. M.P.U.P School Principal, Sajitha U.V., delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the significance of cleanliness and community service.Under the guidance of NSS Program Officer, Ms. Preetha Kuriakose and Student Coordinator, Hisana, the volunteers embarked on a thorough cleaning drive from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The school premises, including courtyard , and surrounding areas, were meticulously cleaned.
Simultaneously, a flower garden was created to provide a serene and eco-friendly space for students.The garden was developed by the NSS volunteers, with the assistance of teachers, Ms. Libina and Ms. Krishnapriya.
The cleaning drive and student park inauguration witnessed enthusiastic participation from 26 NSS volunteers and 3 teachers. The collective effort showcased the unit's commitment to community service and environmental sustainability.
The outcomes of the program were multifaceted:
- The school premises were sanitized, promoting a healthy learning environment.
- The student park creation fostered environmental awareness and appreciation.
- Students developed teamwork, leadership, and community service skills.
The NSS unit expresses gratitude to Indu K. Mathew for gracing the occasion and inspiring the volunteers. We also appreciate the support provided by School Principal, Sajitha U.V., and participating teachers.
The success of this program reinforces the NSS unit's dedication to Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of "Be the change you wish to see in the world." We strive to continue promoting cleanliness, sustainability, and community service among students.
