John Venn's birth anniversary celebration


 The Department of Mathematics at Malabar Training College, Peravoor, organized a grand celebration on the occasion of John Venn’s birthday on 04/08/2021, honoring the legendary mathematician who contributed significantly to the field of set theory and logic. The event began at 1:30 PM in the college general hall, with a welcome address by Sreehari Unnikrishnan,first year student,Mathematics Department. The program aimed to inspire students by shedding light on Venn’s contributions to mathematics and to emphasize the importance of logical thinking in everyday life. Smt. Anjuna Ashokan,Mathematics department,delivered the keynote address, elaborating on the life and achievements of John Venn. A detailed presentation on the Venn Diagram and its applications in mathematics and other disciplines was presented by the first year students, department of mathematics,which was highly appreciated by the audience. A mathematics-themed quiz competition was held, focusing on set theory, logic, and other mathematical concepts, encouraging students to delve deeper into the subject. Prizes were awarded to the top three teams.A creative poster exhibition showcasing Venn diagrams and their real-world applications was organized by students.The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Alby Tom,first year student, department of mathematics,expressing gratitude to the faculty, students, and guests for their enthusiastic participation. The event successfully celebrated the legacy of John Venn and kindled a renewed interest in mathematics among the attendees. The celebration was both informative and enjoyable, leaving students inspired by the profound impact of John Venn’s contributions to mathematics and beyond

On August 6 and 9, 2019, Malabar B.Ed Training College observed Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day with a solemn and reflective event. The day was dedicated to remembering the victims of the atomic bombings and promoting peace and disarmament. The observance featured informative sessions, including presentations and discussions on the historical impact of the bombings and their significance in the quest for global peace. Students and faculty participated in a moment of silence to honor the lives lost and reaffirmed their commitment to advocating for a world free of nuclear weapons.
