MALABAR VIBES

  The "Drug-Free Campus Awareness Campaign" is an initiative organized by the Anti-Drug Cell to educate students about the harmful effects of drug and alcohol consumption. Through various events and activities, such as seminars, workshops, and poster campaigns, the campaign aims to raise awareness about the dangers associated with substance abuse. By engaging students in anti-drug activities and providing them with information and resources, the campaign strives to promote a healthy and drug-free campus environment.

  On September 26, 2023, Malabar Training College organized an Awareness Class on Human Trafficking to educate students about the dangers, signs, and legal frameworks surrounding human trafficking. The session aimed to empower students with knowledge on how to identify, prevent, and take action against trafficking in their communities. Human trafficking is a grave human rights violation, and the event sought to raise awareness about its impact on society while promoting responsible actions among the future educators.

In celebration of Ozone Day, Malabar Training College organized a mango tree sapling distribution program. The event involved the distribution of mango saplings to students and staff as a gesture to promote environmental sustainability and awareness. This initiative aimed to encourage the planting of trees, enhance green spaces on campus, and contribute to the broader goal of environmental conservation.  

  Malabar Training College, renowned for its commitment to educational excellence and holistic development of students, organized a spectacular event, Talents Day, on August 24, 2023. The event aimed to showcase the creative and artistic talents of the students while fostering a spirit of competition, teamwork, and cultural diversity.

  Malabar Training College celebrated Farmers’ Day on August 17rd, 2023, to honor the invaluable contributions of farmers to the nation's prosperity and food security. Farmers' Day is observed annually to recognize the hardships faced by farmers and to acknowledge their essential role in sustaining the agricultural sector. The celebration aimed to raise awareness about the importance of farming, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the farming community.

The Eco Club of Malabar Training College organized a campus cleaning program to promote environmental stewardship and campus sustainability. The initiative involved students and staff in cleaning various areas of the campus, collecting waste, and raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean and green environment. This program aimed to foster a sense of responsibility towards environmental conservation and enhance the overall campus aesthetics .  

On March 13, 2023, Malabar Training College hosted a program on "Education Policy and Reforms," led by Ranjith Markose. This session provided an in-depth look at current educational policies and reform strategies. It aimed to equip educators and administrators with knowledge on policy development, implementation, and impact assessment through lectures and case studies. The program focused on enhancing participants' understanding of how to effectively navigate and influence   educational reforms.  

On November 17, 2021, Malabar Training College hosted a seminar on "Teacher Leadership and Professional Development," conducted by Dr. Joselet Mathew. The seminar focused on empowering educators with leadership skills and strategies for ongoing professional growth. It covered effective leadership practices, career development, and methods for fostering a culture of continuous improvement in education. Through interactive discussions and practical insights, participants were equipped to enhance their leadership capabilities and contribute more effectively to their educational environments.  

Malabar B.Ed Training College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Social Science Club, celebrated Children's Day with a series of engaging and enjoyable activities. The event aimed to honor the spirit of childhood and emphasize the importance of education in nurturing young minds. The celebration featured a variety of programs, including interactive games, creative art and craft sessions, and storytelling. Students took part in performances and skits that highlighted themes related to childhood and education. The day also included informative sessions on child development and effective teaching strategies to foster a supportive learning environment.  

Kerala Piravi Celebration 2021

The Palliative Day Celebration, organized by the Peace and Harmony Forum at Malabar Training College, was held to raise awareness about palliative care and its importance in providing compassionate support to patients with serious illnesses. The program featured informative sessions, guest speakers, and interactive activities aimed at educating participants on palliative care principles and practices. It served as a platform to highlight the significance of empathy and quality care in improving the lives of individuals facing terminal conditions.  

Malabar B.Ed Training College observed Kerala Piravi with a lively and culturally rich program. The event celebrated the formation of Kerala and highlighted its unique heritage. Activities included traditional Kerala folk dances, music performances, and a display of regional crafts. Students and faculty participated in cultural skits and educational talks that explored the history and significance of the state. The celebration was a vibrant tribute to Kerala's identity, fostering a sense of pride and community among attendees.  

Keralapiravi Celebration  

On August 15, 2020, Malabar B.Ed Training College celebrated Independence Day with a spirited and heartfelt event. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the celebration was marked by a simple yet meaningful ceremony. The event began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by a rendition of patriotic songs and a poignant speech reflecting on India's journey to freedom and the significance of the day. The celebration emphasized the values of unity and patriotism, with students and faculty participating in virtual activities and discussions, fostering a sense of national pride and solidarity.  

Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day is observed to mark the devastation of the atomic bombing during World War II. The horrors of ‘Little Boy’ on August 6th followed by ‘Fat Man’ on August 9th sparked global discussions on nuclear disarmament. This day marks the of the nuclear attack which led to Japan’s surrender during World War II.  

The  International Day of Yoga  has been  celebrated across the world annually on June 21  since 2015, following its inception in the  United Nations General Assembly  in 2014.   Yoga  is a  physical ,  mental  and  spiritual practice  which originated in ancient  India .

The  International Day of Women and Girls in Science  is an annual observance adopted by the  United Nations General Assembly  to promote the full and equal access and  participation  of women in  Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)  fields.  The United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 70/212 on 22 December 2015,  which proclaimed the  11th day of February  as the annual commemoration of the observance.  A theme is selected annually to highlight a particular focus and area of discussion around a focus point for  gender equality  in science.  

 

Malabar B.Ed Training College marked Kerala Piravi with a festive and engaging event. The celebration honored the state's formation and showcased Kerala's rich cultural tapestry. The program featured traditional dance performances, folk music, and a variety of cultural exhibitions. Students actively participated in recitations and presentations that highlighted Kerala's history, language, and traditions. The event concluded with a shared sense of pride and appreciation for the state's vibrant heritage, bringing together students and staff in a joyful celebration of Kerala's identity.  

On August 6 and 9, 2019, Malabar B.Ed Training College observed Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day with a solemn and reflective event. The day was dedicated to remembering the victims of the atomic bombings and promoting peace and disarmament. The observance featured informative sessions, including presentations and discussions on the historical impact of the bombings and their significance in the quest for global peace. Students and faculty participated in a moment of silence to honor the lives lost and reaffirmed their commitment to advocating for a world free of nuclear weapons.  

On June 19, 2019, Malabar B.Ed Training College, organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, celebrated Reading Day with a series of enriching activities. The event aimed to promote a culture of reading and highlight the importance of literature in education.  

Malabar Training College hosted a seminar on "Emerging Trends in Teacher Education," led by Dr. Prasanth Mathew. The seminar explored contemporary developments and innovations in teacher education, focusing on new methodologies, technologies, and best practices. Dr. Mathew provided insights into how these trends are shaping the future of teaching and preparing educators for modern challenges. Participants gained valuable knowledge on adapting to and implementing these trends in their own educational settings.
